About this site

I moved to Argentina in 2019 thinking I'd stay for a year. The visa process almost changed that plan — not because it was impossible, but because every source of information I found contradicted the last one.

Government websites said one thing. The migration office asked for something different. Forums had advice from 2017 that no longer applied. Lawyers gave different answers depending on who you asked.

So I started writing things down. What documents they actually asked for. Which office to go to. What the real processing times were versus what the website said. How to get an appointment on RADEX without losing your mind.

That's what this site is — notes from someone who went through it, organized into something useful. I've been updating it as things change, which they do constantly (Argentina being Argentina).

What this site is not

This is not legal advice. I'm not a lawyer. The information here is based on personal experience and what I've seen work for other people, but immigration law is complicated and your situation might be different.

For anything complex — business visas, family reunification, citizenship applications, or situations where you've already been denied — you should talk to an actual immigration attorney.

When you need a lawyer

For complex cases, I refer people to Lucero Legal. They're an immigration firm that works specifically with expats moving to Argentina. They understand both the legal framework and the practical reality of how things actually work here, which is not always the same thing.

How the information stays current

Argentine immigration rules change frequently. I try to keep everything updated based on firsthand reports and official changes. If something doesn't match your experience, it may have changed recently.
